Shortcut Keys for MS Excel

F1 key – Help
F2 key – Edit the selected cell
F4 key – Repeat the last action performed
F5 key – Go to specific cell
F8 key – Extend selection
F7 key – Spell check selected text or document
F11 key – Create chart
F12 key – Save as


Shift + F3 – Open the Excel formula window
Shift + F5 – Bring up search box 
Shift + F7 – Activate thesaurus
Shift + F12 –Save
Shift + Space – Select entire row

Alt + =   – Create formula to sum all of above cells
Alt + Shift + F1 – Insert new worksheet

Ctrl + Shift + :  – Enter the current date
Ctrl + Shift + !  – Format the number in comma format
Ctrl + Shift + @  – Format the number in time format
Ctrl + Shift + #  – Format the number in date format
Ctrl + Shift + $  – Format the number in currency format
Ctrl + Shift + %  – Format the number in percentage format
Ctrl + Shift + ^  – Format the number in scientific format


Ctrl + A – Select all contents of the page
Ctrl + B – Bold highlighted selection
Ctrl + C – Copy selected text
Ctrl + D – Fill
Ctrl + F – Open find and replace options
Ctrl + G – Opten go to the options
Ctrl + H – Open find and replace options
Ctrl + I – Italicize highlighted selection
Ctrl + K – Insert link
Ctrl + N – Open new blank document
Ctrl + O – Open options
Ctrl + P – Open the print window
Ctrl + S – Save
Ctrl + U – Underline highlighted selection
Ctrl + V – Paste
Ctrl + W – Close the document

Ctrl + 5 – Strikethrough highlighted section
Ctrl + F6 – Switch between open workbooks/ windows
Ctrl + F9 – Minimze the current window
Ctrl + F10 – Maximize the selected window

Ctrl + Right arrow – Move to next section of text
